Tacuba House

Initiated in February 2025, the Casa Tacuba project is one of our most compelling residential undertakings. Set within a historic context, this design pursues a careful equilibrium: maintaining the grandeur of its traditional colonial facade while reinventing the interior as a modern, luminous, and highly functional home.

The Challenge: Honoring History, Living the Present

The intervention at Casa Tacuba is based on respect for local architectural heritage, fused with the needs of modern life. Our proposal for modern and colonial architecture is articulated through two main fronts:
Historic Exterior: Preservation and restoration of the colonial facade, maintaining a visual identity that engages with the urban context of Tacuba.
Modern Interior: We move beyond traditional layouts to implement an open-concept interior design. This approach maximizes natural cross-ventilation and daylight, creating a feeling of breadth and sophistication that stands in harmonious contrast to the classical exterior.

Comprehensive Execution: From Floor to Ceiling

To ensure the feasibility of this architectural fusion, Tree Architecture has managed the project's full lifecycle, ensuring the aesthetic vision is supported by a solid technical foundation:
Preliminary Studies: Before designing, we conduct a detailed topographic survey and soil studies to evaluate load-bearing capacity and ensure the stability of both the new and existing structures.
Advanced Visualization: We developed a comprehensive 3D model that allowed the client to visualize the transition between the historic facade and the modern interior before construction began.
Construction and Specializations: Currently, we are supervising the execution of all technical disciplines (structural, electrical, and plumbing), ensuring that modern installations are invisibly integrated into the architecture.
